Guided Art Tour in Tamba: Meet Local Pottery Artist and Explore “Tamba-yaki”, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.

Join us to meet with the local pottery artist in Tamba Sasayama and together explore the history and culture of Tamba-yaki as one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.

Tamba-yaki Pottery, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns (Tamba, Bizen, Shigaraki, Echizen, Tokoname, Seto), originated in Tachikui, Tamba Sasayama. The symbolic "climbing kiln" as a historical remain was used for firing ceramics for three days and nights at 1,300°C (1,300°F). With over 50 kilns in the area, local pottery artists work together to inspire a diverse range of styles from traditional crafts to innovative pieces.
