Yamasa Kamaboko Fish Cake Workshop Yumesen Hall

A theme park for kamaboko fish cakes, where you can enjoy the scenery and delicious taste

The Fish Cake Workshop Yumesen Hall, on the grounds of the Yamasa Kamaboko Co., Ltd. head office, is a sightseeing spot that combines food and an experience offered by a well-established company founded in 1916. You can buy kamaboko (fishcake) products direct from the factory. The famous newly made tempura sold in the live-cooking corner offers a superb taste unique to just-made food! The Jokamachi Dog, a gourmet treat local to Himeji, are a delight that you should also try.

A tour of the factory, where you can see the processes of making kamaboko and chikuwa (a fishcake product) through glass windows, is also popular. In the kamaboko/chikuwa-making experience workshop, you can also enjoy making kamaboko for yourself. The kamaboko that you create will surely be even more delicious than the norm!

The ”shibazakura path” and "lotus flower garden" on the site grounds are also famous for their flowers. The shibazakura cherry blossoms bloom into a pink carpet from mid-April to early May, and early July is the best time to see the multicolored lotus flowers; these famous attractions of Yamasa Kamaboko ensure that it bustles with large numbers of tourists.
