Sumaura Sanjo Yuen Park
Irresistible Showa retro!A park full of unique experiences
Sumaura Sanjo Yuen Park, full of both beautiful scenery and wonderfully individual attractions, lies on the top of a mountain.
Reaching the summit involves taking a ropeway. First, head to Hachibuse Sanjo Station on the Sumaura Ropeway from Sanyo Electric Railway Sumaura-Koen Station. The panoramic vista, with views of the sea of Suma, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, and Awaji Island, is a must-see! After you’ve enjoyed your journey through the sky, go to the Rotating Observation Tower via the Carlator, which has been a hot topic on social media! This resembles a two-seated basket, and the officially acknowledged “uncomfortable ride” is addictively interesting. A unique experience of rattling and shaking awaits.
Sumaura Sanjo Yuen Park’s symbol, the Rotating Observation Tower, is another spot with panoramic views. The retro Game Parlor on the second floor is one of its attractions, and the Cosmos café on the third floor is a precious rotating restaurant, one of the few in operation in Japan! One rotation takes 55 minutes, so why not enjoy some pancakes or a cream soda as you leisurely watch the scenery?
If you take the sightseeing lift further up to the summit area, you’ll find various attractions that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. Among these, the Cycle Monorail, on which two-person bicycles cycle through the air, is a popular piece of play equipment that enables users to have fun while enjoying the views. It also offers plenty of places for children to play, including a children’s playground and Minicar Land
Flowers bloom through the four seasons, ensuring that the park’s appearance changes each time you visit. Make the most of unique activities and beautiful scenery here.
