The origin of Japan Hyogo
According to Japan's oldest history text, written over 1,300 years ago, the Japanese archipelago was created by a goddess who descended from the heavens down to the sea, and the first island she created was Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture. Hyogo Prefecture can thus be considered Japan’s birthplace. Its vast area is blessed with a diverse topography consisting of mountains, ocean, and distinctive islands.
