Kobe Shushinkan Brewery tour of Japanese sake “Fukuju” and tasting experience
Founded in 1751, the brewery of Kobe’s famous sake “Fukuju” continues brewing sake for 13 generations in Nada Gogo, Japan’s best sake brewing area. ”Fukuju” is created taking the advantage of the natural blessings of Mt. Rokko, such as the king of sake rice “Yamada-Nishiki” and famous water of heaven “Miyamizu”. Its taste that cling to hand-made is highly valued even abroad, as “Fukuju Junmai Ginjo” is served at the official Nobel Prize event. This brewery also practices sustainable sake brewing, and in 2022 it sold world’s first carbon-zero sake.In Kobe Shushinkan’s premises, there are various hands-on facilities such as sake brewery tours, tasting, shopping, and a restaurant.There are three courses you can experience, and all of them are free of charge. Before and after the brewery tour, you will be able to enjoy Japanese sake “Fukuju” with seasonal dishes at the brewery’s ryotei restaurant as an option.
