At Shubukan, one of Japan’s leading private dojos, you can experience “Tendoryu,” an ancient style of naginata that serves as the root of modern naginata. Just like in regular training sessions, you’ll wear a keikogi and hakama while receiving instruction from the 17th-generation Grand Master and a leading instructor of Tendoryu. You’ll experience a sense of accomplishment as you master “Ichimonji no Midare,” one of Tendoryu’s signature kata.Furthermore, the program includes historical commentary and a commemorative photo session holding a real naginata, satisfying your curiosity about Japanese culture and encouraging you to return for a deeper learning experience.
