Lacquer has long been indispensable to craftsmanship and its transmission through the production of lacquerware and the restoration of cultural assets due to its role as a paint and adhesive. Lacquer artist, Yuzo Eto, is based in Himeji City where the famous Himeji Castle is located. He uses lacquer to create not only handcrafts by applying traditional techniques, but also the artwork the the traditional and innovative style.  Mr. Eto, who has won various awards, is an active artist around the world including Japan, U.S., Italy, France, and the UAE.
