Masunomi Matsuya is fitted with a large traditional cooking stove in its centere on which Tajima beef is roasted. Elegant Japanese cuisine served in delicate courses is its specialty and fresh fish from Kobe or Akashi features in the sushi, tempura, and steamed dishes on the menu which is delivered to the sound of Jazz music. The second floor has single rooms some including kotatsu heaters built into the floor.

Hitomarukadan a Japanese style restaurant and inn 30 minutes from Kobe and an hour from Osaka respectively by car is situated at the foot of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It specializes in Japanese dishes using a variety of fish caught in the Akashi Strait including an elegant dish using pieces of octopus served in delicate courses. Its outdoor hot spring faces the garden and the bath tub is made of podocarpus. The indoor bathtub is made of cypress. A steam sauna is installed in each bath room. Staff also speak English and French.
